Sustainable Poultry Farming Group

The Sustainable Poultry Farming Group (SPFG) is an industry-lead organization that encourages and facilitates environmental initiatives that are beneficial to the British Columbia poultry industry. SPFG provides the coordination and the voice for the poultry sector to promote sustainable and environmental farming practices and the implementation of innovative management technologies. SPFG is poultry producers working together to proactively address issues that affect BC’s poultry sector.

The SPFG has representation from BC's supply managed poultry associations and the umbrella poultry organization - BC Poultry Association.

The SPFG Directors are:

  1. Hester Mulder, representing the BC Egg Producers Association
  2. Kevin DeJong, representing the BC Broiler Hatching Eggs Association
  3. Bev Whitta, representing the BC Chicken Growers Association
  4. Stan Thiessen Chair, representing the BC Turkey Growers Association

Call for poultry-related research projects

If you are a poultry researcher or another individual with a potential research project or an idea that addresses the SPFG’s top issues, please contact us. Under our mandate, we provide funding for a limited number of poultry-related projects. We are also interested in partnering with other projects and researchers.
